Terms and conditions of service
Last updated: October 2026. This English version is provided for reference; in case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
These terms govern the data recovery service provided by CM Data Recovery (Guatemala 6040, 2 D, Palermo, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina). By submitting an evaluation request or handing us a device, you accept these terms.
1. Evaluation and quote
Before any work, our engineers evaluate the device to identify the type of failure and the chances of recovery. The evaluation is free. Based on that assessment, we tell you the total price of the service and an estimated timeline. We don't start the recovery until you approve it in writing (WhatsApp or email).
If the recovery requires parts (for example, a donor drive), we tell you and quote them separately before buying them.
2. Payment based on results
We work with a fixed price, given before we start. On physical and electronic failures, if we can't recover the data we agreed on as a priority, we don't charge for the recovery service. For recovery of deleted files and formatted drives, the service performed is paid regardless of the result. If the device was opened or tampered with before it arrived, an initial inspection fee applies, depending on the type of device. Payment is made when the recovered data is delivered.
The express service has its own terms and price, which we tell you before you confirm it. Prices published on this site are reference prices in Argentine pesos (ARS), excluding VAT (IVA). Paying in cash gives you 10% off.
3. Device risks
A damaged device can keep deteriorating even without intervention. Some procedures require opening the device under controlled conditions, which may void the manufacturer's warranty. Before going ahead, we explain which procedure we'll use.
We don't guarantee full recovery of the data: the result depends on the condition of the device and on what was done with it before it reached the lab.
4. Data delivery
We verify the recovered files before delivering them. Delivery is made on storage media you bring us or on media we offer you, with its cost given in advance.
5. Confidentiality and personal data
We access your files only as far as necessary to recover them and verify the result. We don't share your information with third parties, and we deliver the data only to you or to someone you authorize in writing. If you need it, we sign a confidentiality agreement.
We process your personal data in accordance with Argentine Personal Data Protection Law 25,326. You can request access to, correction or deletion of your data by writing to soporte@cmdatarecovery.com.
6. Retention of the copy
After delivery, we keep a copy of the recovered data for 15 days in case there's a problem with the storage media. After that period, we delete it securely. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
7. Collecting your device
When the work is finished, we let you know so we can arrange the return of your device. If you don't collect it within 60 days of that notice, we'll notify you again and, if we get no reply, we may securely destroy it to protect the data it contains.
8. Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the service, without prejudice to your rights under Argentine Consumer Protection Law 24,240.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this site, with its update date. The laws of the Argentine Republic apply.
