Every drive fails in its own way.

A hard drive (HDD) stores data on spinning platters and reads it with heads that move over them. When it clicks or makes noise, there's almost always a mechanical failure, and every power-on can scratch the surface where your data lives.

An SSD has no moving parts: it stores data on memory chips managed by a controller. When it fails, there's often no warning and it simply stops being detected. If you deleted files, the chances drop quickly because of a feature called TRIM, so turn it off and contact us as soon as possible.

That's why the first step is for our engineers to identify whether the failure is logical, physical or electronic. With that evaluation, we explain what happened, what can be recovered and how much it costs before going ahead.

2.5" and 3.5" HDD · SATA SSD · M.2 SATA · M.2 NVMe · external USB

What we do

  • Evaluation to identify whether the failure is logical, physical or electronic
  • Whenever possible, we work on a copy of the drive, not on the original
  • We prioritize the folders and files you tell us about

If it makes noise, turn it off and don't plug it in again.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can a clicking drive be recovered?

In many cases yes, especially if it was turned off in time. Clicking usually means the read heads have failed, and each power-on can damage the platters. Turn it off, don't try it in another computer and contact us.

My external drive doesn't show up on my computer. What should I do?

Stop plugging and unplugging it, and don't accept initializing or formatting it. The failure may be in the USB board, the connector or the drive itself. As long as nothing new is written, the data is often still there.

Can deleted files be recovered from an SSD?

It depends on how much time has passed and how much it was used afterwards. Because of TRIM, the SSD can wipe the space of deleted files quickly. If this happened to you, turn the computer off and contact us as soon as possible.

How much does it cost to recover data from a drive?

It depends on the type of failure and the capacity. For a drive up to 2 TB, a logical failure starts at ARS 322,000, a physical failure at ARS 413,000, and a cleanroom recovery ranges from ARS 553,000 to ARS 1,092,000. Our engineers confirm the final price after the free evaluation.

How long does the recovery take?

The timeline depends on the device, the failure and its condition on arrival. We tell you along with the quote. If it's urgent, we offer an express service.
